Introduction UAL/ISH International Scholarships:


The UAL/ISH International Postgraduate Scholarship provides an award of 40,000 pounds to pay for tuition and living expenses. 

The scholarship recipient will also provide accommodation for International Student Accommodation (ISH) during the study period. 

These scholarships are for full-time master's courses (M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes, or MSc qualifications) offered at one of UAL's six colleges starting from the 2021/22 academic year.

Scholarship amount/include:


The UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship provides an award of £40,000 to cover tuition and living expenses. 

Scholarship recipients will also provide accommodation in the International Student Dormitory (ISH) during their studies.


Qualification for UAL/ISH International Scholarships for Postgraduate students:


Criterion 1: You must provide a letter of acceptance for a full-time master's program to one of UAL's 6 colleges starting in 2021/22.

  • Your course must provide Grad Dip, M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes, or MSc qualifications.
  • If you already hold a UK postgraduate teaching qualification (or an equivalent qualification) for research conducted in the UK or abroad, you are not eligible to apply.

Criterion 2: You must usually live in a low-income economy country/region detailed in the UAL's list of eligible countries/regions (see the official website), or you are an asylum seeker in the UK when applying for a scholarship.


Criterion 3: When applying for the scholarship, your family's annual income must not exceed £50,000 (or the equivalent exchange amount in the currency of the eligible country).


Criterion 4: You must provide a personal statement in the scholarship application to answer the following questions (up to 350 words per question):


  • Describe how getting a graduate scholarship can help you
  • Tell us how you plan to use the qualifications you will obtain to support future plans
  • Describe how to deal with the challenges of the home country
  • Tell us how you will uphold the values ​​of social justice and environmental management

Application instructions:


After receiving the admission notice for a qualified course, the "My Funding" page on your UAL applicant portal will be updated to show the scholarship application form you may be eligible for. 

You must submit a completed UAL International Graduate Scholarship Application Form and supporting materials before June 18, 2021 (Friday).


In order to apply for the scholarship, you will need to hold an acceptance letter for a qualified course.

It is recommended that you apply for the course as soon as possible to get enough time to apply for the scholarship.
