Introduction 

Schwarzman Scholars Program at China is best known for producing world-class best young leaders to lead the world and is one of the first scholarship programs in china created in response to the geopolitical landscape of the 21st century. 

The program will provide opportunities for the world's best and brightest students to develop their leadership skills and professional network through a one-year master's degree at Tsinghua University, one of China's most prestigious universities.

Benefits of Schwarzman scholars Program at Tsinghua University


Outstanding students selected as Schwarzman Scholars will receive a comprehensive scholarship, including tuition and fees, board and lodging, travel to and from Beijing at the beginning and end of the school year, domestic study trips, compulsory textbooks and materials, health insuraundergraduatesnce, and personal allowances.


Qualification required for Schwarzman scholars program:


Obtain a bachelor's degree or first degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.


All degree requirements are compulsory for those students who are undergraduates before August 1 of the Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year as planned. 


There is no requirement for a specific field of undergraduate study; we welcome all fields, but for applicants, regardless of their undergraduate degree.

Age requirement:

From August 1st of the enrollment year of Schwarzman Scholars, candidates must be over 18 years old, but not yet over 29 years old.

English language proficiency:

Applicants must show strong English language skills because all teaching will be conducted in English. If the applicant’s native language is not English.

The official English proficiency test results must be provided with the application form. Acceptable test options include:


  •  Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT). The minimum score is   600.
  •  Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT). The minimum score is 100.
  •  International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The minimum score is  7.

Applicants who graduated from an undergraduate institution can be exempted from this requirement. 


The main language of instruction of the institution is English, and the applicant has kept at least two years in the applicant's academic curriculum. 


Applicants who have studied at the English level for more than two years and have a master's degree or higher will also be exempt from this requirement.

Applicants holding passports from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau can apply online through the China Application Portal on May 20, 2022.
